I'm working on getting this site up and running so it has some use for the Lochee community.

I've owned Lochee.com since 2006 so I suppose it's about time I do something with it. Last year I contacted some local councillor (he knows who he is) with a proposal to sell this to the cooncil and he politely told me to bolt. I'll still let the councillors have their own area here.
Mibbe Lochee.com will be the new tully, or the auld Sporting Post, or baith. DC Thompson will be chapping the door begging for a mention.
I'm not aiming to rake in bucketloads of cash with the site, but if loads of people get involved and start adding content and pages themselves, then it's inevitable that the site will start to make some money from local advertising, just like the tully has screwed everyone for years for 20 words in a classifieds cos there was no other way to sell yer auld 3 piece suite. Stick it in the tully or dump it in the bin recess. That was the 2 choices.
So Lochee.com will be non profit. Not a charity or nothing, too much paperwork to be a charity, but any profits made will be ploughed right back in to Lochee community (this includes Charleston where I grew up). My costs for running the site amount to the grand total of a fiver a year. I'll not claim it back :)
So get involved and maybe DC thompson will be phoning us up to place an ad.
In the meantime you'll just have to mak dae wi a video of Alfie (A Lochee legend and great guy) until the ball gets rolling.
The first £1,000 pound surplus this site makes is going straight to Alfie, I'm sure someone has his contact details. I have fond memories of his rendition of "bucket of shite" when I was a bairn in the 80's
